Carol Wood Reviews:

don't look back we're not going that way
by Marcia Wallace

Every once in a while I find a book that just so inspires me to write my fingers get itchy. This is one of those (scratch, scratch, scratch) books.
Marcia Wallace has described for us a very poignant story about life as an actress enjoying celebrity, as a woman searching for the man of her dreams and as a mother. She really pinpoints the stages of widowhood - denial, outrage, insanity and grief.

Her crazy style of flipping from one subject to the next becomes quickly addictive and not just because of the story but the fact that she tells it so openly and honestly.

I was a little put off at first by her blunt way of describing her mother - sort of I never liked my mother- routine. Might be because I am a mother, but then I continued to turn pages, and she didn't leave anything out. She had the resentment, sure, but then she left in the shared happiness too. Plenty of laughs and a cup full of tears. I really did start crying when she described Denny's funeral. But throughout her whole life Marcia has been full of humor. It was such a gratifying read. And inspiring. It made me think that there is a way to say things that makes it all to real and perfectly alrighty then.

I think this woman could write a grocery list and make it interesting, believable and you'd be pre-ordering the sequel.
